Culture is Important In School Systems
I believe it is very important in our society today to learn about different cultures within the school curriculum. With the growing population of our world, there are more and more people following certain religions that we know little about. Our society is becoming so sheltered and judgemental towards other cultures because of our misunderstanding and lack of knowledge on them. Learning about different cultures, expands our knowledge of ourselves and the world around us. Learning about different parts of the world gives us the opportunity to show proper respect and acceptance in our society. Learning about different cultures in the school curriculum opens doors to acceptance, understanding and overall respect for not only the students of the schools, but the members to society as well.
I agree with this alot. I think the more you know about something, it gives you more of an opportunity to form an opinion. I'd like to know how much the average person knows about any given culture before forming their opinion. I'm not sure that most people are educated enough on culture before making rude and un called for comments on something they know nothing about. I have heard so many people refer to certain cultures as weird or dumb which is very disrespectful to those people. i agree with your point about education allowing people to be more respectful because it allows people to actually understand something fully before deciding on their personal opinion. Accepting those around us is very important in todays society.

I think it is very important to learn about other cultures to expand our knowledge rather than being judgemental and ignorant to the other cultures around the world. If the diversity of culture wasn't shared in school, we would never broaden our knowledge and we would contain ourselves to the knowledge that we already have about cultures.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with your opinion on this topic. we are not the only culture in this world, and if we don't start to learn about other cultures, we will be a very close minded world. I feel it is important to learn about the beliefs of other cultures and why they do what they do. So many people hold an unfair and bias judgement of other cultures due to their lack of understanding of it. The increasing education of other cultures being brought into our school curriculum will help the world become more accepting of others.
